Ministry Funds

Ministry Funds help you track money that has been designated for specific purposes -- such as a building fund, missions fund, or benevolence fund.

Accessing Ministry Funds

Navigate to Stewardship > Setup & Configuration > Ministry Funds in the sidebar.

What are Ministry Funds?

Funds allow you to track how designated money is received and spent, even when it's all held in the same bank account. For example:

  • General Fund -- Unrestricted money for general church operations

  • Building Fund -- Money set aside for facility improvements

  • Missions Fund -- Donations earmarked for missions

  • Benevolence Fund -- Money for helping those in need

  • Youth Ministry Fund -- Designated for youth activities

Using Funds

When recording transactions or donations, you can assign them to a specific fund. This allows you to:

  • Track income and expenses by fund

  • Generate fund-specific reports

  • Ensure designated money is used properly

  • Report to donors on how their gifts were used

Best Practices

  • Create a General Fund -- Always have a general/unrestricted fund for regular operations

  • Track restricted funds carefully -- Donor-restricted funds must be used for their designated purpose

  • Review fund balances regularly -- Ensure funds have adequate balances and aren't overspent
